Dania Beach, Florida may seem to get lost in the hustle and bustle of surrounding cities like Miami and Fort Lauderdale, but this city has so many great restaurants in a concentrated area you’ll want to leave those big cities behind when you dine! From the best chicken wings south of Buffalo to authentic Irish cooking and one of those breakfast places featured on the Food Channel, Dania Beach scores a triple play in taste that keep visitors and locals coming back for more!

If you’ve ever watched Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on the Food Network, you may have seen Grampa’s Bakery featured for it’s greasy-spoon style breakfasts with free, homemade pastries. When you walk in here, you’ll think you stepped into a diner or a truck stop out in the middle of nowhere because of the small town vibe. Everything here is hand cooked fresh to order from omelets to pancakes and waffles. If you come on a weekend morning, be prepared to wait. The free homemade pasties will make it all worthwhile!

Our next stop brings us to Tark’s of Dania Beach, famous with the locals for both fresh seafood choices and the best chicken wings in town. If you’re looking for glamour or spaciousness, you won’t find it here. Tark’s has only a long counter to sit at, and a few tables outside for dining or drinking the beers they serve on tap. The counter is so close to the fryers, you can hear your nose hairs singeing while you wait for your food, but don’t worry, it’s worth it! Because the place is so small and the food so good, it is always crowded. Just do what the locals do, and squeeze in wherever you can. Chicken wings, gator bites, clam strips, fresh conch salad and more are all house specialties. Trust me, eventually this restaurant too will be seen on a Food Network show.

Dania Beach might be the last place you think of when it comes to Irish food, yet one of the best Irish restaurants in Florida is located here. Often when you visit an Irish restaurant, you find that it isn’t Irish at all. Sometimes they just serve shepherd’s pie and put a keg of Guinness on tap and call themselves Irish. This is not the case with The Field Irish Pub and Restaurant in Dania Beach. Rumor has it that all employers are flown in from the Emerald Isle itself, and judging by their accents, this may very well be true. Live Irish music can be heard nightly, and the menu includes a variety of authentic Irish favorites, including shepherd’s pie and yes, Guinness on tap.
